しらず【知らず】

1 〔その場合には分からないが〕

●ほかの人なら(いざ)知らず彼に限って疑う節(_ふし)はない. However it may be with others, he is quite above suspicion.

2 〔意識しないこと･経験しないこと〕

●われ[思わず]知らず in spite of oneself; involuntarily.

●そこは暑さ知らずの所だ. That place doesn't experience summer heat.

・この冬うちの子は風邪知らずです. Our child hasn't had a cold this winter.
